candid photography called “street photography”. It also does not mean that my photos must be taken on the streets.

So what is street photography? Street photography focuses on people in candid situations. Street photographs can be taken anywhere, usually public places. Street photography is UNPOSED. You can even shoot a sexy model in studio and call it street photography as long as she doesn’t pose.

So what is the difference between street photography and photojournalism or documentary photography? It’s the mood. Street photography focuses on photographer’s personal mood. Say, street photography is not about what in the photo but about how the photographer see it. A street photographer shoots for himself first.

It’s hard to explain clearly but easy to look at a photo and tell it’s a street photo or not.

They are both candid shots but my personal mood lacks within the second one. I can’t tell you exactly what is that mood but I can feel it when I see the first one.

I know it’s not clear. It’s art, we can not explain it exactly. If you are interested in what I’ve just told you, hang out with your camera and take some photos. I will tell you if they are street photos or not. :)

tell you about my photography style

I’m a street photographer. No, it does not mean that I prowl about the streets or some beautiful places taking photo of people as they request for money. I shoot a type of candid photography called “street photography”. It also does not mean that my photos must be taken on the streets.
